Drawings

This page will probably see more frequent updates than the others, as I am almost always working on a drawing of some kind. Mostly I work in graphite, but I also do a lot of colored pencil and pastel work, as well as the occasional pen and ink drawing.

Pencil

I did a series of portrait for a chess site. These are smaller portraits, only 8.5" x 11" and drawn with 
graphite pencils.

Every so often I get a request for a couple's portrait. I enjoy these a lot, and the reactions from my clients are the most rewarding part of the experience.

 

This is the biggest portrait I've done to date. Approx. 30" x 40".

Colored Pencil

I had a lot of fun with this one....matching the blue tones to the paper worked out really well.  The veil was a challenge.

This one was tough! Lots of detail, full color and pretty big too. Also it was a tight deadline.  I'll try to adjust the contrast on this picture later....the lights are a bit washed out.

I'm particularly proud of this one...only took about 10 days. Approx. 36" x 24"
